Ph.D. - University of Waterloo
M.Tech. - Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur, India
B. Tech. - Jadavpur University, India
Dr. Sadhu completed his PhD from Waterloo (2013) in the field of structural health monitoring. Prior to joining Western, Dr. Sadhu was an Assistant Professor at Lakehead University (2014-2018). He also worked in the Dynamics team of General Electric (GE) Aviation (2007-2009) after completion of his M.Tech. degree from IIT Kanpur.
In January 2021, Dr. Sadhu received the prestigious Early Researcher Award from the Ministry of Ontario.
His research team is working towards developing remote and autonomous techniques to assess faults and mitigate failures in structures. This research is focused on addressing the practical challenges of structural health monitoring while harnessing the capability of modern sensing technology. Dr. Sadhu's current projects involve both theoretical as well as experimental research in areas including data-driven structural condition assessment, damage detection and pattern recognition, vibration control, Artificial Intelligence, and information modelling techniques of large-scale structures. This research resulted in numerous research articles, and the proposed algorithms have been successfully implemented in several full-scale structures including those located in North America and Europe.
