Civil Engineering professor, Slobdan Simonovic, has developed the first Canada-wide maps showing how floodplains may become inundated in the next 80 years under various climate change scenarios.

Engineering professor Ayan Sadhu is developing technology for evaluating the health of bridge infrastructures using artificial intelligence
Sadhu’s team is developing vehicle-mounted sensors that, when driven across a bridge, would simultaneously send valuable signals back to the lab. The lab’s artificial intelligence system would then diagnose whether, and to what extent, cracks or other flaws have developed in the bridge structure.
