Research Interests

There is a growing demand for development of highly selective and cost-effective technologies for applications such as sustainable energy, waste treatment and recycling, and production of specialty products with targeted properties. To achieve that, our research approach has focused on applying Process Intensification (PI) techniques in different application with particular interest in membrane processes. Recent research areas include:

  • Hybrid Electrocoagulation Membrane system
  • Flow-Electrodes Capacitive Deionization (FCDI)
  • Membrane Distillation (MD)
  • Photocatalytic membrane reactors (PMR)
  • Membrane emulsification/ Pickering Emulsions
  • Photocatalytic demulsification of O/W wastewater
  • Supported Liquid Membranes Extraction (SLM)
  • Bipolar Membranes Electrodialysis (BMED)
  • Oscillatory motion Process Intensification
  • MOFs & NP in anticancer drug delivery (collaboration with AUS)
