For entry into first year Engineering in 2017, offers of admission were extended to those Ontario high school students who achieved a mid-year average in the mid to high 80's in the final round of offers in May. This average was calculated on six Grade 12 courses including the five Grade 12 pre-requisites required for admission to Engineering.
- Western Admission Scholarship (unlimited) - 90% to 91.9% - Total of $2,500 ($2,500 in first year + $1,000 for optional study abroad experience)
- Western Scholarship of Distinction (unlimited) - 92% to 100% - Total of $3,500 ($2,500 in first year, plus $1,000 for optional study abroad experience)
- Western Scholarship of Excellence - 250 scholarships recognizing outstanding achievement are awarded based on the top high school admission averages.
Total of $8,000. $6,000 in first year, plus $2,000 for an optional study abroad experience. (These cannot be combined with another Western admission scholarship.)
Western's 'unlimited' Admissions Scholarships are automatically awarded upon admissions to Western. No application is required to be eligible for these scholarships.
Scholarships are awarded to students (Canadian citizens, permanent residents and landed immigrants) who accept a full-time, first-year offer to main campus and are based on final marks including prerequisite courses. Once you have confirmed your acceptance to Western and your final marks have been received, you will be notified regarding the value of your scholarship. This will occur in August. The value of your scholarship will be applied directly to your tuition account.
All first-year engineering students take the same courses allowing you to experience all disciplines before deciding on your area or program of specialization.
