Awards and Scholarships

Western Engineering offers financial support for eligible research-based (PhD and MESc) graduate students who achieve a minimum average of 78% at the time of admission. To continue receiving funding, students are required to maintain a minimum average of 70%. Financial support is provided through research grants, contracts, scholarships, and teaching assistantships. Eligible research-based students will receive a minimum of $13,000 plus tuition (excluding ancillary fees) from all sources. After a PhD student completes their Comprehensive exam, the minimum financial support package will increase to a minimum of $14,000 plus tuition (excluding ancillary fees).  For information about the cost of living and educational expenses while at Western, please visit our Financial Planning page.
