Tips for using technology in ACEB Classrooms

Classrooms 1410, 1415, 1420, 1450 in ACEB are equipped with the following technology:

  • PC located in the Podium (monitor, keyboard, mouse on the podium)
    • You will need to log into the computer with your UWO ID in order to use
    • Windows 10, including office 2016 productivity suite (word, excel, power point, outlook, etc)
    • All Engineering software that is available in the General Use Labs.
  • Projector (some have two projectors)
  • Crestron Panels on the Podium to control the input to the projectors
  • Wired connectivity from the top of the podium for HDMI, VGA, and USB devices
  • Solstice (wireless) connectivity to projector (see

  • Wireless Microphones (stored in white lock box near the entrance – use classroom key)
  • Clicker / laser pointer for PC (stored in white lock box near room entrance – use classroom key)
  • Spare batteries for microphones / clicker in white lock box. If out contact ITG helpdesk (
  • Web Camera located at rear of classroom controlled by Crestron panel and software on podium PC.
  • Wireless connectivity only for personal / mobile devices used within the room (laptop, notebook, tablet, cell phone)
  • Sound / speakers for use with microphones or multi-media presentations (sound levels controlled through Crestron panel)

Please Note – The doors for the podium cabinet and video cabinet are locked.   These need to remain locked – DO NOT OPEN.    There is no need for anyone to access these areas.
