Camp 11 Iron Ring
NOTICE to CAMP 11 Participants for Ritual of the Calling of an Engineer on March 28, 2020
The Wardens of Camp 11 have been closely monitoring the rapidly evolving situation of COVID-19 in our community. Our top priorities are the health and safety of the Candidates, their guests and the organizers of our Obligation Ceremony and ensuring that we responsibly protect our local community. Western University President Alan Shepard sent out a notification on March 12 that Western is cancelling classes until March 17 and then moving to online delivery for the rest of the term and that all discretionary events on campus currently scheduled until May 1, 2020 are being cancelled, postponed or offered virtually.
Based on these developments, Camp 11 is postponing their Obligation Ceremony that was scheduled for March 28. Camp 11 is discussing alternatives that will still allow Candidates to have their Iron Ring presented in a meaningful way that reflect the spirit of the Obligation Ceremony. The Camp will ensure that all participants are informed of alternative plans as soon as possible through email and on this webpage. Given that the COVID-19 situation is evolving rapidly and the duration of the outbreak is uncertain, plans will be tentative and hopefully flexible enough to accommodate everyone.
