From January 7 to 11 2026, Western Engineering proudly welcomed 200 undergraduate engineering students from 44 engineering institutions across Canada for the Canadian Federation of Engineering Students’ (CFES) Canadian Engineering Leadership Conference (CELC). Organized by a dedicated team of Western Engineering students led by Co-Chairs Eesha Sharma and Joshua Lee, the event brought together engineering students to engage in meaningful dialogue on leadership and professional development.

With the theme “Track to Success,” the conference served as the CFES’ annual general meeting and provided a national platform for students to collaborate with industry partners, sponsors and fellow engineering leaders while facilitating the election of the incoming CFES executive team.

Over 13 sponsor organizations contributed more than $50,000 in funding, reflecting strong support from industry and community stakeholders. The conference offered attendees invaluable insights into leadership development, stakeholder engagement and institutional collaboration.

Through workshops and panel discussions led by accomplished speakers, delegates were encouraged to bring renewed initiative back to their home institutions and to grow as effective leaders.

Western Engineering is proud to have hosted CELC 2025, an annual student-led conference dedicated to developing, connecting, and empowering the next generation of engineering leaders. Together, the conference reinforced a vision of national collaboration, shared leadership and continuous professional growth across Canada’s engineering faculties.

In bringing together student leaders from across the country, CELC further enabled a valuable exchange of knowledge and best practices that supports the ongoing advancement of engineering student organizations and the broader engineering profession.
