El Damatty named Fellow of the Canadian Society for Civil Engineering

Ashraf El Damatty, Civil and Environmental Engineering chair, has been elected a Fellow of the Canadian Society for Civil Engineering (CSCE).
El Damatty will be presented this honour at the CSCE Annual Conference awards banquet, held at the Halifax Marriott Harbourfront Hotel on May 30.
CSCE has also awarded honorable mention for the Casimir Gzowski Medal competition to El Damatty and his co-authors for the paper entitled, "Assessment of current design procedures for conical tanks under seismic loading." This paper was published in the Canadian Journal of Civil Engineering and this work will be recognized at CSCE.
