Why Western Engineering?

One of the biggest reasons I was drawn to Western Engineering was because of the strong community feel! I loved how involved the students were and how many fun clubs there were to join. I was also very interested in all the ways that you could personalize your degree and the possibility of pursuing a dual degree. Lastly, I liked the idea of having a general first year! Though I was interested in the chemical discipline, it was important to me to get introduced to all the disciplines and have the chance to meet lots of other students!

What do you do in your spare time?

In my spare time I like to hang out with my friends, read, go to workout classes, and watch movies!

What was your orientation week experience like as a first-year student?

I had a great orientation week experience as a first-year student! There were lots of opportunities to meet people in both my residence and engineering, as well as explore the campus. Within engineering, we were given a tour of the engineering buildings and were taken to an engineering club fair where we got to see all the awesome clubs that we could join!

Why did you choose your specific stream of engineering?

I chose chemical engineering because I always enjoyed chemistry in high school and was interested in environmental solutions and sustainability! Because of this I thought that chemical engineering would be the perfect discipline to apply my interests to real-world problems that I am passionate about!

What is your favourite book, movie, or TV show?

My favourite book is the Martian!

Who do you look up to/admire and why?

I look up to my parents! They are both very driven and hardworking individuals that have inspired me to pursue what I am passionate about.
