Facilities

The Geotechnical Research Centre has been operating since 1985 and is the premier geotechnical research and testing facility in Canada.  The current provision of Geotechnical and Geoenvironmental laboratory space is eleven thousand square feet (spread across 18 laboratories) and has outstanding state-of-the-art facilities, dedicated technical and administrative staff, and seven active core faculty members who expertise spans a broad spectrum of geotechnical and geoenvironmental engineering.  The primary mission of the GRC is to conduct geotechnical, geoenvironmental and multi-disciplinary research and consulting with an emphasis on interfacing with industry.  A number of testing and design methodologies developed by the GRC are widely used in the industry.
