James Lacefield is a biomedical engineer with expertise in the physical acoustics and signal processing aspects of ultrasound imaging. Dr. Lacefield’s research program focuses on development of new methods and systems for quantitative vascular imaging with an emphasis on applications of high-resolution ultrasound to cancer research. Our current research projects include development of signal processing and image optimization methods for colour Doppler, power Doppler, and contrast-enhanced ultrasound imaging and development of novel methods to quantify changes in the spatial distribution of blood flow in tumours.
