Katarina Grolinger is an Associate Professor with the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Western University. She is also Canada Research Chair (Tier 2) in Engineering Applications of Machine Learning and Vector Institute Faculty Affiliate. She received her Ph.D. and M.Eng. degrees in Software Engineering from Western University. Previously, she obtained her M.Sc. and B.Sc. degrees in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Zagreb, Croatia. Before joining Western University as an Assistant Professor, she was a postdoctoral fellow at Western where she was working on developing data analytics solutions for energy domain, clickstream data analytics, and Big Data processing. Her work is largely carried out in collaboration with industry where she develops research to solve industry problems. Also, she has over ten years of industry experience in various roles including software engineer, Oracle certified database administrator, and technical team leader.

Dr. Grolinger was the 2022 recipient of the Engineering Junior Faculty Award for Excellence in Research.
