Biomedical Engineering

Ahmed Tanashi is currently pursuing an MESc in Biomedical Engineering at Western University. He completed his BESc in Mechanical and Materials Engineering at Western University in April 2017. Ahmed joined the Human Biomechanics Laboratory in September 2017. The focus of his thesis proposal is examining and developing a novel method for in vivo finger kinematic tracking using a commercially available electromagnetic tracking device. This project looks to compare the accuracy of a novel non-invasive mounting method to currently validated in vitro methods and proposes a new method for in vivo landmark digitization. The overarching focus of these designs is to move towards evaluation of healthy and arthritic motion pathways in various daily tasks.
