Do you remember when you decided you wanted to pursue engineering? What sparked your interest?

I knew I wanted to do engineering from a young age because I liked building things, such as woodworking with my dad as a kid, and I always enjoyed math. These experiences led me to believe that engineering was the right path for me. Additionally, I discovered my passion for coding in my first year, which ultimately influenced my decision to specialize in software engineering.

How do you manage school-related stress?

In order to manage stress, I always prioritize spending time with friends and family, which provides a valuable support system. Additionally, I make time for personal hobbies like gardening, woodworking, and singing/piano, which serve as a creative and stress-relieving outlet in my life.

What is your favourite quote?

You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think." – Winnie the Pooh

Favourite study spot on campus?

My favourite study spot is ACEB as it is more than just a place for classes and work; it's a community. No matter the time you'll always find engineering students there, and the best part is that everyone is very friendly. The atmosphere is so comfortable that I can easily spend hours working there. Plus, it's incredibly convenient with 7/11 and food options nearby. ACEB creates the perfect balance between being a productive workspace and a social gathering spot, making it my top choice among engineering buildings.

Can you talk about your extra-curricular activities at Western? Why would you encourage students to get involved in extra-curricular activities at Western Engineering?

I've actively participated in a variety of extracurricular activities at Western, including WECCA (Software Lead), Western Engineering Musical (Executive Producer), Wellness Force, and Women in Engineering (Big Sister). These experiences have not only enriched my university life but have also fostered lasting friendships, personal growth, and a broader perspective.

What is success to you?

Success to me means being content and happy in my day-to-day life. It involves having a fulfilling career in a field that genuinely interests me, while also allowing me to maintain a healthy work-life balance. This includes making time for friends and family, as well as pursuing my personal hobbies, such as singing, piano, and other passions that bring joy and balance to my life.
