Why Western Engineering?
What really drew me to Western Engineering was its focus on creating a positive student experience. The social events, academic resources, and teamwork-based approach made the program welcoming and supportive to me. I also appreciated the general first year, giving students the opportunity to explore diIerent disciplines, make informed decisions, and build friendships across the whole faculty before specializing.
What do you do in your spare time?
I love spending my spare time with my friends, talking about anything other than calculus! Whether it’s a nice movie night in, or a good night out, I love to prioritize my relationships and recharge my batteries with my people. I am also passionate about running, enjoying the weather when it’s nice or the rec center in London’s winters.
Can you talk about your extracurricular activities at Western?
Being involved in extracurriculars has helped me find a balance between academics and a life outside. As a member of Run With Us, I've been able to stay active and meet students from diIerent years and programs. Being part of Women in Engineering also helps build friendships, while nurturing confidence in female engineers and giving support needed. I'd encourage students to get involved as it's a great way to find community, develop new skills,
and make the most of your university experience.
Why did you choose your specific stream of engineering?
Coming into Western Engineering I had no idea what discipline I would end up in. After having the opportunity to learn new skills and participate in projects, I took an interest in circuits, electronics, and all things electrical. I love the opportunities to develop both my hardware and software knowledge, equipping me with applicable skills. All the labs give hands-on learning opportunities outside of the lectures, attracting me to the program and keeping it exciting.
What is your favourite book, movie, or TV show?
I have just recently become obsessed with Game of Thrones. I love how there is never a dull moment and every episode is full of plot twists. It is definitely worth the hype! On the other hand, I do love reality television. Anything with lots of excitement keeps me entertained.
Who do you look up to/admire and why?
The person I look up to most is my older sister. She is unapologetically herself and has always encouraged me to be confident in who I am. Her confidence and authenticity have inspired me to trust myself and approach new opportunities with the same mindset.
