Why Western Engineering?

I decided on Western Engineering because of the strong community and common first year. Both really appealed to me as they are a great way to grow connections and help you succeed in your studies, which is very important to me.

What do you do in your spare time?

In my spare time, I enjoy participating in intramurals, with flag football being my favourite. I also spend some time sewing patches onto my boiler suit and playing Stardew Valley.

What was your orientation week experience like as a first-year student?

My orientation week was filled with both fun and information. Many of the events are set up to help prepare you, such as Faculty Day, which allowed me to meet many people and become familiar with all the clubs Western has to offer. In addition, by the end of the orientation week, I was fully familiar with the campus and could get around by myself without getting lost.

Why did you choose your specific stream of engineering?

I chose mechanical engineering because I was very interested in figuring out how different things work and operate. Additionally, I was drawn to mechanical engineering based on the numerous fields and specialities I could work in upon graduation, including aerospace and automotive engineering.

What is your favourite book, movie or TV show?

One of my all-time favourite movies is Interstellar!

Who do you look up to/admire and why?

I look up to my parents. They are both very hardworking and loving people; they have demonstrated what it means to be a great person. Their guidance has helped me become the type of person I am, and I hope to continue to grow to be like them.
