Why Western Engineering?

Western Engineering stood out to me because of its supportive community, flexible first year, and hands-on learning opportunities. From my very first campus visit, I felt welcomed and encouraged to grow. The faculty invests in student success with a plethora of on-campus growth workshops and I've had incredible experiences both inside and outside of lecture halls meeting friends and faculty. Choosing Western has been one of the best decisions I've ever made.

What do you do in your spare time?

Outside of classes, I enjoy working out, connecting with friends, and keeping up with the latest developments in engineering. I also like listening to music, spending time with family, and discovering new places to eat around London. Having hobbies outside academics helps me recharge and bring some fresh energy back into my studies.

Can you talk about your extra-curricular activities at Western? Why would you encourage students to get involved in extra-curricular activities at Western Engineering?

I've really enjoyed getting involved in engineering events and connecting with classmates through the Western Engineering community. Whether it's attending faculty events, workshops, or UES bingo nights, every experience has helped me meet new people and feel more connected. I'd encourage every student to get involved because it's one of the best ways to build friendships, develop new skills, and make university that much more rewarding.

Why did you choose your specific stream of engineering??

I chose Integrated Engineering because it combines the technical aspects of engineering with the broader problem-solving skills needed to improve systems and processes. I'm also interested in consulting, where understanding multiple disciplines and optimizing how organizations operate is crucial for success. I hope the program's flexibility and collaborative approach will prepare me to tackle complex challenges and develop practical, efficient solutions.

What is your favourite book, movie, or TV show?

One of my favourite movies is A Beautiful Mind. I admire how it tells the story of John Nash's brilliance while honestly portraying the challenges he faced. Russell Crowe's performance and the film's message about perseverance, resilience, and the importance of supportive relationships make it especially meaningful. It's an inspiring reminder that determination and the people around us can help overcome even the toughest obstacles.

Who do you look up to/admire and why?

I admire my parents because of their work ethic, resilience, and constant support throughout my life. They've taught me the importance of staying disciplined, being grateful for opportunities, and always giving my best effort. Their example motivates me to keep improving, take on new challenges, and help others whenever I can which is something I hope to bring to my role as a student ambassador.
