2008 School Year Ends on High Note at Design Showcase

  • Brigitte Heddle appointed to new position in Faculty
    Effective May 1st Brigitte Heddle will be assuming the full-time continuing role of Undergraduate Assistant – Software in the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering. (more)

  • Ph.D. student featured on news for work on Confederation Bridge
    Civil Engineering Ph.D. student Bilal Bakht appeared in several news sources in April, including CBC television and CBC.ca for his work on Prince Edward Island’s Confederation Bridge. (more)

  • Western Engineering student wins Minerva safety award
    Congratulations to Integrated Engineering student Mark Cicero for winning the 2008 Minerva Canada – James Ham Safe Design Award. (more)

  • Western Engineering Ph.D. student wins Dean's Award for Research Excellence
    The Society of Graduate Students and the Faculty of Graduate Studies has conferred upon M. Shahria Alam (PhD Student, Dept. of Civil and Environmental Engineering), The Dean's Award for Research Excellence. (more)

  • Western Engineering staff members win University Health and Safety Award
    Walid Altahan, Manager of MME Laboratories, and staff with University Machine Services, were selected as winners of the University Health and Safety Award. (more)

  • Western Engineering student named Goldman Sachs leader
    A University of Western Ontario undergraduate student has been chosen as a Goldman Sachs Global Leader Class of 2008, a distinction earned by only 150 students from 20 countries. (more)

  • Western Engineering staff, faculty and students nominated for first annual Western Green Awards
    Congratulations to all who where nominated this year for the first annual Western Green Awards. (more)

  • Western Engineering students offered unique certification opportunity
    Western Engineering Plus is about providing students with the best student experience possible. In another example of this philosophy in practice, twenty-six engineering students were given the opportunity in April to write a Solidworks Certification exam. (more)
