Professor Hanif Ladak, Electrical and Computer Engineering Professor, shared his team’s research on the use of imaging and artificial intelligence (AI) to treat hearing loss with improved cochlear implants at Engage Western 2025. They use AI to create detailed 3D renderings of a person’s cochlea, allowing implants to be better tuned to an individual’s particular anatomy.”
