Cell Compatible Poly(amic acid)

Poly(amic acid) (PAA) is a class of bifunctional polymer incorporating both the carboxylic acid and the amide (peptide) groups in the monomer unit. It is an isomer of peptide nucleic acid (PNA). Through careful choice of monomers, the resulting PAA polymer has been demonstrated to be cell compatible. It can be shaped into various geometries suitable as scaffolds for use in various tissue engineering/ regeneration applications.
