Prof Ying. Zheng awarded the 2025 Energy Systems Award!

Congratulations to Prof. Ying Zheng on receiving the prestigious 2025 Energy Systems Award from the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA).

Prof. Zheng, a Canada Research Chair (Tier 1) in Chemical Reaction and Intensification, received this distinguished award in recognition of her exceptional contributions to energy systems, particularly her pioneering research in clean and renewable energy technologies. The AIAA Energy Systems Award recognizes individuals whose research and applications have significantly advanced energy production, storage, distribution, and conservation.

Prof. Zheng's research in applied catalysis and sustainable energy has contributed to innovative solutions addressing major global energy and environmental challenges. Her accomplishments include developing technologies for reducing sulfur in gasoline and diesel, advancing the production of drop-in biofuels, and conducting innovative research in CO₂ conversion and hydrogen production. She has authored more than 200 peer-reviewed publications and holds 10 patents.

Beyond her research achievements, Prof. Zheng has made a significant impact through mentorship and leadership. She has supervised more than 100 graduate students and postdoctoral fellows and has actively supported the advancement of women and gender equity in engineering and STEM.

This prestigious international recognition highlights Prof. Zheng's continued leadership in developing innovative catalytic and energy technologies and her commitment to creating cleaner and more sustainable energy solutions for the future.
