Application Information

The application period for the 2026 program is now open. DEADLINE EXTENDED: APPLY BY WEDNESDAY, JULY 22.
Eligible students are invited to apply to the RBC Design Thinking Program. To apply, students must submit an application that involves answering questions, providing a resume, and submitting a link to a video "audition". Apply through the RBC Design Thinking Program 2026 Application.
Please note that eligibility requirements have been updated. You must be an undergraduate student who will be entering your third year of any program at Western or affiliate colleges (excluding HBA1) or fourth year double degree of study in the fall 2026 term. Students are ineligible to participate in the RBC Design Thinking Program if:
--They have not successfully completed all requirements for the first and second years of their primary program.
--They are in their final year of study.
--They have previously participated in the RBC Design Thinking Program.
Students admitted into the program must be able to attend all sessions including:
- Tuesdays 5:00-7:00pm during the fall term (Tuesday, September 15-Tuesday, December 1, excluding fall reading week).
- Saturday, September 19 from 10:00am-4:00pm
- Saturday, November 7 from 10:00am-4:00pm
- Additional mutually agreed upon meetings and working sessions

The application process for the RBC Design Thinking Program is competitive. A select number of candidates will be invited into the Program by mid-August, 2026. Applications will be reviewed through a multi-phase process. All applicants will be informed of their status by mid-late August.
