Emma was born and raised in the nation’s capital and comes to Western as a master’s student in the School of Biomedical Engineering. She completed an undergraduate degree in the same field at the University of Hartford, in Connecticut. She spent a year after completion of her undergraduate degree as a junior engineer for Novadaq (now part of Stryker), and a second working in public service at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute.
Emma has played competitive soccer since the age of 7, including having played varsity through her undergraduate degree. As a hobby, she has recently started practicing the art of and quilting and is captivated by calligraphy.
