London and Western University

London

The City of London is nestled in the heart of Southwestern Ontario and is located approximately midway between Toronto and Detroit that are both around 200 km away. London is one of the oldest cities in Canada and the 10th largest in the country. With a population of over 389.641 inhabitants, London is large enough to provide many touristic attractions, and yet retains the friendliness of a smaller community. Owed to its central position on the southwestern corridor of Ontario, London is easily accessible by air, rail and road. Although you’ll likely see double-decker buses and the River Thames in London, Ontario, this city still has a distinctly Canadian flavour. The city has extraordinary natural conservation areas, spectacular parkland, renowned entertainment, and a culture all of its own! London is an exciting destination for culture and entertainment, some of our ‘must sees’ are shown below.

  • Fanshawe Pioneer Village, Banting House and Eldon House will captivate history buffs.
  • Or indulge your slightly less cerebral side with a tour of the Labatt or the Forked River Breweries. Unique craft brews and local parings to match - creative craft brew culture and great cuisine in vibrant neighbourhoods.
  • As Canada's largest indoor family fun centre, The Factory has a wide variety of top indoor attractions, creating endless fun things to do for the whole family.
  • The Grand Theatre is Canada's oldest and longest running live professional theatre.
  • The Covent Garden Market, located in the heart of London since 1845, offers fresh products, gourmet foods, unique gifts, seasonal outdoors farmers market, events and more!
