CBE students, finalists in SNC-LAVALIN Plant Design Competition


The student group consisting of Western Chemical and Biochemical Engineering students Suanne Mahabir, Karen Lenkiewicz and Luke McIntyre, are one of three finalists in the SNC-LAVALIN Plant Design Competition for their project "Manufacture of Ploylactic Acid - Biodegradable Plastic from Renewable Sources". The student team will present their project at the 58th Canadian Chemical Engineering Conference in Ottawa next month.

The Canadian Society for Chemical Engineering offers the SNC--LAVALIN Undergraduate Plant Design Competition for students enrolled in undergraduate chemical engineering programs at Canadian Universities. Individuals and groups of undergraduate students registered in chemical engineering programs in Canadian universities during the academic year are eligible.
