A warm welcome to Remus Tutunea-Fatan

As of July 1st, Remus Tutunea-Fatan joined the Mechanical & Materials Engineering department as an Assistant Professor in the area of computer-aided design, computer-aided manufacturing, industrial automation, and mechatronics. Remus brings to Western Engineering experience in the automotive industry and an impressive research and teaching record.

Remus comes to us from Progressive Moulded Products Ltd. (Design Department), in Vaughan, Ontario where he has worked as a CAE Analyst/Product Design Engineer since 2005. Remus received his Bachelors and Masters of Science in Mechanical Engineering (1994 and 1995 respectively) from Transilvania University, Brasov, Romania. He received his PhD in Mechanical Engineering (2004) from The University of Western Ontario under the supervision of Dr. His-Yung (Steven) Feng. Remus was an outstanding graduate student, entering with the prestigious President’s Scholarship for Graduate Study (PSGS) entrance scholarship from Western.

Remus will be officially on campus beginning July 2nd. Remus’ office will be located in SEB2063a.
