2009-10 Rotary Academic Ambassadorial Scholarship

Applications for the 2009-10 Rotary Academic Ambassadorial Scholarship offered in the international Rotary District 6330 need to be completed this month, February 2008!

Each candidate must be interviewed by a local Rotary Club and club-endorsed applications must be received by me by 31st March 2008.

Applicants must either have their permanent address or study full-time in this district (Stratford to Flint, MI or Wiarton to Lake Erie).

They cannot be related to a Rotarian. The value of the scholarship is $23,000 USD usually for one year's study. Applicants have usually completed their undergraduate degree, may have some work experience, are leaders and high achievers interested in combining further study with an ambassadorial role in another country. They must be fluent in the language of the country in which they will study but the final selection of their university is made by the Trustees of The Rotary Foundation to achieve geographic distribution of scholars.

Consideration will only be given to applicants who are in full sympathy with Rotary's ideal of service and who are committed to addressing at least one aspect of the humanitarian needs of the world community.

If we are to offer assistance to applicants we need to know of their interest.
