International Composite Research Centre

International Graduate School (IGS)

Jeff Wood ICRC Classroom

The primary academic function of the ICRC is to facilitate the training of graduate students to conduct research, develop technology and transfer knowledge in fields associated with the processing and application of polymer composite materials.

The international team of educators and researchers represent complimentary analytical, experimental and modeling expertise that spans the entire value chain of the polymer composite industry, thereby enabling education and research at any point from raw materials development through to the application of the finished product. Dedicated, world-class infrastructure for full industrial-scale production of polymer composites at the Fraunhofer Centre for Composites Research at Western (FPC) in London and the Fraunhofer Institute for Chemical Technology (F-ICT) offer unparalleled opportunity for trainees to interact with industry experts and conduct experiments at full-scale. Industry-driven applied research projects and direct participation from industry partners at all levels of program management assure that the training program addresses and adapts to the needs of industry. Student internships, international exchange programs and an annual workshop and symposium offer trainees exceptional opportunities to practice technical and professional skills while providing potential employers the opportunity to evaluate student quality first-hand.
