What is Master of Engineering with Co-op Option?
The Faculty of Engineering offers a co-op option for the Master of Engineering (MEng) program. This option will allow MEng students to complete a co-op in an industrial organization to enhance experiential learning. Students will gain practical, hands-on, industry-relevant experience that will assist them in their career advancements.

Who can participate?
- Students need to be in good academic standing and maintain a cumulative average of 75% or higher calculated in the term prior to starting co-op.
- Students must be registered as a full-time student. PLEASE NOTE: Students registered with Accessible Education are considered full-time if enrolled in 40% of a full-time course load. Please advise us by emailing wecareer@uwo.ca if you are registered with Accessible Education and have been approved for a reduced course load.
- Domestic students (Canadian Citizens or Permanent Residents) who have successfully secured a co-op.
- International students applying for the Co-op Work Permit prior to securing a co-op (IRCC permits the aforementioned).
- International students who have successfully secured a co-op and would like to apply for the Co-op Work Permit.
What is the enrollment process?
- Students are required to submit an application through Western Engineering Career Services and pay an annual $125 Application Fee through our Engineering Ecommerce Site .
- Online registration begins September 5, 2023 on Western Connect .
What are the costs?
- Annual application fee is $125 Dollars (payable when you apply).
- Co-op Tuition is $550 Dollars per term.
