Undergraduate Co-Op
Beginning in the Fall of 2026, upon the registration of your first co-op term with Engineering Career Services, you will be automatically placed into the "With Co-op" academic plan for your undergraduate degree (e.g. B.E.Sc. Software/w Co-op). Should you complete the required minimum of 3 co-op terms before your final year of studies, you will be set to graduate under that degree plan.
In the case that you do not meet the required 3 terms for the "With Co-op" stream, you will simply be moved back into the regular Bachelor of Engineering Science plan and would be set to graduate with that degree plan. Please note that entry into the "With Co-op" degree plan only indicates the possibility of graduating with this plan. Students must continue to meet eligibility requirements and apply each year to the co-op program to gain career services approval to pursue a co-op term under this plan.

Co-op Experience and Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) Licensing in Ontario
Beyond the invaluable practical experience and competitive salary gained through co-ops, it’s noteworthy that experience obtained before your graduation date may be applied towards the Competency-Based Assessment (CBA) if it meets the criteria set out by the Professional Engineers of Ontario. This would be in addition to needing to obtain two-year of work experience after your graduation date.
