Samad was a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department during 2002-2005 and is now employed with Bechtel Corporation, Frederick, Maryland, U.S.A. The Keefer Medal “is awarded annually for the best paper presented on a civil engineering subject in areas” other than surveying, structural engineering and heavy construction.
