Hello! I am going into my second year of engineering at Western, and this year will be specializing in Chemical Engineering. In my first year I played varsity volleyball but now I have decided to move my focus to being Volunteer Director on the WIE exec team, and also being a part of the Undergraduate Engineering Society. I hope this year as a part of Women in Engineering we get the club to grow at the school as well as start reaching out to the community as well. I am super excited for the 2015-2016 school year!

Hi my name is Katrina Darcel and I am currently going into my third year of Chemical Engineering, specializing in the Biochemical stream. I am the Women in Engineering Outreach Director for the 2015/2016 year. One of my main objectives for this upcoming year is to continue to encourage the enrollment of women in the engineering program here at Western. We plan to do this through several outreach activities, many of which will be paired up with Discovery Western. I plan to have WiE play a larger role in some of these events through volunteering and information booths. There will also be a chance for female engineering students to return to their high schools to encourage younger students to consider engineering as a potential postsecondary option. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions or if you are interested in volunteering with Women in Engineering!
