Spring Club

Every spring, Discovery Western offers a co-ed science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) club for students in Grades 3-8.

Spring Club runs for four Saturdays virtually during the month of June. The cost for the program is $100 which includes meeting with mentors, activity kit, t-shirt and much more! Registration is now closed.

2021 Session dates + topics: June 5, 12, 19 + 26

  • Grades 3-5 class: 10am-11am | Secure Live Zoom Session
    • Week 1: Coded Greeting Card
    • Week 2: Catch the Apples Coding Game
    • Week 3: Steady Hand Coding Game
    • Week 4: Hexbugs Bobsled
  • Grades 6-8 class: 1130am-1230pm | Secure Live Zoom Session
    • Week 1: Coded Memory Game
    • Week 2: Guitar Hero Coding Game
    • Week 3: Navigate the Maze Coding Game
    • Week 4: Micro:bit Heads Up

Spring club will focus on coding with plugged and unplugged activities for participants. Previous coding experience is not needed. 

Our last virtual session will include activities for parents and guardians to join in and celebrate our participants' accomplishments throughout the session. Each participant receives a certificate to mark the occasion.
