Chair Tier 1
Professor Dr. Jesse Zhu from the Department of Chemical &
Biochemical Engineering was been appointed Canada Research Chair
Tier 1 in Powder Technology Applications, effective May 1, 2004.
Powder possesses many properties of a liquid when
aerated and this feature can be utilized to make many processes much
easier and more efficient. The Canada Research Chair Program will
establish a world class research centre at Western on Powder
Technology, to conduct fundamental research and to develop novel
technologies that can be readily applied to the chemical,
biochemical, environment, materials, and pharmaceutical industries.
Commercialization of the technology through applications to many
industrial processes is a very important part of the proposed CRC
program.
