Mini Baja Update

The Mini Baja team consists of engineering students who are tasked to design and build an off-road vehicle that will survive the severe punishment of rough terrain and water.   The team  participates in three regional competitions that simulate real-world engineering design projects and their related challenges.

The 2005 Mini Baja team has made significant design changes to this year's off-road vehicle. They have reconstructed the frame to be lighter and stronger using simulation software to test various frame designs.  They are also hoping to implement a data acquisition system using telemetry. The collected data will help with optimization of future designs.

Chassis construction and component design of the 2005 vehicle are well underway. The team anticipates the construction of this year's off-road vehicle will be complete by the end of March 2005.

In addition to rebuilding the off-road vehicle, the team has also been busy with several fundraising initiatives including BBQ's and a Ceeps Mini Baja pub night that took place December 2.
