The appointment is contingent upon the successful award from the NSERC Industrial Research Chair program (www.nserc-crsng.gc.ca/Professors-Professeurs/CFS-PCP/IRC-PCI_eng.asp). The criteria for that program include (but are not limited to): proposal must be in an area of high priority for both the university and the industrial partner, and candidates must have (a) demonstrated exceptional promise relative to their peers in their field of research, (b) demonstrated the capacity to conduct a significant independent research activity, (c) a significant publication and Highly Qualified Personnel training record, and (d) the ability to interact with industry and nurture partnerships.
