Program Policies and Procedures

Any student who is approved to participate in the Summer Co-op program and who receives several offers in and turns them down without cause, will be withdrawn from the program and not permitted to apply for any additional postings.

Any student who accepts a co-op offer, and subsequently chooses not to proceed with the offer prior to the agreed upon start date, will be removed from the co-op program for that academic year.

Any student who begins their Co-op placement and subsequently terminates their co-op early (without cause, as determined by Engineering Career Services), will be required to pay the full amount of tuition fees for any work terms started and/or completed, will be in consideration of being assigned a fail “FAI” grade for all works terms started and/or completed (at the discretion of Engineering Career Services), and will forfeit future co-op eligibility.

Any student who has completed the probationary period, and whose co-op placement is ended early due to economic, health, or compassionate reasons, will be assigned a withdrawn “WDN” grade for the incomplete work term. Tuition payment will be required for any co-op work term started.

Any student who is removed from their Co-op due to academic reasons (i.e. a scholastic offence) will be required to pay the full amount of tuition fees for any work term started and/or completed.

The Co-op tuition is NON-REFUNDABLE. Late payment of the Co-op tuition will result in the accrual of late charges at the current university rate. Non-payment of the Co-op tuition will result in an academic seal.
