Student Duo

Igor Lukac Engineering Global Opportunity Award $2,000:
Awarded annually to a full time student entering his or her 4th or 5th year in the Integrated Engineering Program with preference given to a student in the combined BESc (Integrated Engineering) and HBA degree program who is participating in an international exchange or study abroad program including: exchange programs; approved study abroad programs; curriculum based international field courses; international study or international community service; summer co-ops or internships; and other university led credit or non-credit learning experiences.

Bizmo Award for Volunteerism $1000:
Awarded to an undergraduate student in the third or fourth year of an Engineering program (minimum 70% average) who has demonstrated outstanding volunteer and leadership skills through participation in the Undergraduate Engineering Society and/or involvement in extracurricular activities that are focused on enhancing the Western campus or the broader community.

Vander Laan Undergraduate Scholarship in Engineering $2500:
Awarded to a full-time student in Year 2 or higher of any program in Engineering based on academic achievement (minimum 80% average) who demonstrates an academic interest in environmental topics or water issues.

Westeinde Family Continuing Award in Environmental Engineering $1125:
Awarded to a full-time undergraduate student entering second year in the Civil and Environmental Engineering program and pursuing an Environmental Engineering option, based on academic achievement (minimum 70% average) and financial need. This award will continue to a maximum of three years as long as the recipient continues to meet the criteria.

DeMarco Family Green Technologies Award $1000 divided:
Awarded to the team of Engineering students who present the best Environmentally Friendly Solution for at the annual Engineering Day Design Competition.

Western Alumni "Go Global" Awards in Engineering Science $2,000:
Awarded annually on a competitive basis to full-time undergraduate students registered in the Faculty of Engineering Science who have been selected to participate on an official UWO International Exchange. Preference will be given to students going on exchange for a full academic year. Applicants for this award will be evaluated on excellence in their academic record, demonstrated extra-curricular involvement and an essay.

The Richard Ivey Foundation Continuing Awards in Environmental Engineering 3 at $2,500 continuing:
Awarded to full-time students entering their third year of study and have chosen to specialize in Environmental Engineering. Students must have a minimum 75% average and demonstrate financial need. In order to retain these continuing awards, students must continue to demonstrate financial need, must maintain at least a 75% average and continued registration in an environmental engineering option.

Philip Nakahara MacLachlan Memorial Award $5,000:
Awarded to a full-time undergraduate student in the fourth year of Chemical and Biochemical Engineering, based on academic achievement (minimum 75% average). Candidates must also have demonstrated their involvement with volunteer work at the University (such as student orientation) and/or the community, and must submit with their application a one-page statement which describes their volunteer efforts and how their efforts have benefitted others.
