RESTORE participates in Western's Engineering Summer Academy again, which introduces local high school students to the different disciplines of engineering. Students get hands on experience with projects that highlight key fundamentals within environmental engineering. It was another great turnout, thanks to everyone for their support!

Above is an example of a sand filter that the students had designed and built.

RESTORE STAR Research Group held a one day summit with other academics and Savron Solutions Inc. at their offices in Guelph Ontario to share their research results and discuss STAR implementation at field sites. The day was extremely productive and provided excellent networking on the future of STAR research and applications.

Congratulations to RESTORE member, Jennifer Stewart, runner-up in the CEE Undergrad Thesis Presentation Competition. She has been awarded $1,000 to present her work at the annual CSCE conference. Her thesis focused on 'Computer Science Techniques for Subsurface Remediation Numerical Model Optimization'.
