Investigated the effect of apex angle on the flow structures downstream of a surface-mounted pyramid. Previous work indicated that pyramids with apex angles > 12° have flow structures similar to a two dimensional bluff body, however this behavior does not seem to hold for pyramids with apex angles < 12°. The research involved numerical modeling of the flow, as well as hot-wire anemometry measurements in a wind tunnel.
