A brief Bio: (Not so brief!!!)

Dr. Quazi Mehbubar Rahman received his B.Sc. (Honors) and M.Sc. degrees in Applied Physics, Electronics and Communication Engineering (formerly Applied Physics and Electronics) from the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh in 1990 and 1992, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Calgary, Canada in 2002. From 1993 to 1996, he was with the Department of Applied Physics, Electronics and Communications Engineering, in the University of Dhaka as a Lecturer. From 1997 to 2001 he served as a research assistant in the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering, University of Calgary and from 2002 to 2004 he worked as a postdoctoral fellow at Satellite and Mobile Communications laboratory of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of Queen’s University, Canada. During that period he was also involved in teaching senior year courses in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of Royal Military College of Canada. In the fall of 2004 Dr. Rahman joined the Department of Engineering of the Saint Francis Xavier University, Canada as an Assistant Professor and served there till August 2005 when he jointed as an Assistant Professor in the University of Western Ontario (UWO), Canada. Dr. Rahman is currently holding the position of an assistant professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of UWO. Concurrently, he is holding a visiting professor position in the Department of Engineering of the Saint Francis Xavier University of Canada. Dr. Rahman is a licensed professional engineer in the province of Ontario, Canada and a member of the IEEE. He is a contributing author of a number of refereed journal and proceeding papers, and book chapters in the areas of wireless communications. His research interest includes Spread Spectrum and MIMO systems, OFDM systems; channel estimation and detection in the physical layer of wireless mobile and satellite communications.
