Mehrdad R. Kermani

 

 

 

Dr. Mehrdad R. Kermani received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Isfahan University of Technology and Iran University of Science and Technology in 1994 and 1997, respectively, and his Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering-Robotics from The University of Western Ontario in 2005. From 1997 to 2001, he worked as a senior automation engineer in Iran.

During his Ph.D. studies, Dr. Kermani was a visiting researcher at the Integrated Manufacturing Technologies Institute (IMTI) of the National Research Council of Canada (NRC), where he worked on the developed of a long-reach, 11-DOF Micro-Macro manipulator in collaboration with McGill University . He was an NSERC postdoctoral fellow at the Canadian Surgical Technologies & Advanced Robotics (CSTAR) in 2005, where he is currently an associate researcher.

At present, Dr. Kermani is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Western Ontario. Dr. Kermani is a member of IEEE and a Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario.
