  • Keefer Medal (Canadian Society of Civil Engineers) 1995
  • Professional Engineers Ontario Medal for Research and Development 2006
  • Casimir Gzowski Medal, Canadian Geotechnical Society 2010
  • R.M. Quigley Award, Canadian Geotechnical Society 2010
  • In recognition of his contributions, the Engineering Institute of Canada established in 1997 the K. Y. Lo Medal to be awarded annually to an outstanding engineer who has made significant contributions in the world stage in any engineering discipline.
