Education:  Ph.D.,Wind Engineering, Western (1996), Dipl. Eng., Aerospace Engineering, Politehnica Bucharest (1985)

Fluid Mechanics engineering researcher specializing in fundamental physical (wind tunnel) and applied numerical (CFD) simulations of high Reynolds number shear flows: wakes, boundary layers, jets and tornado-like vortices. Applications to Wind Engineering problems: aerodynamic control of bridges and buildings; wind flow, wind energy, pollution dispersion, wind-driven rain and snow over complex topographic terrain; indoor air quality and aeroacoustics, high intensity winds (downbursts and tornados) and their effects on structures.

Author of more than 100 publications on Fluid Mechanics and Wind Engineering problems.

Reviewer for International Journals: Journal of Fluid Mechanics, International Journal of Wind Engineering and Industrial Aerodynamics, The Royal Society, UK, Journal of Engineering Mechanics, International Journal of Wavelets, Multiresolution and Information Processing, etc.

Principal Investigator and Co-investigator on successful NSERC, CFI- New Researchers, CFI-Innovation, ADF and ICLR grant applications.

Invited Professor at Ecole Normale Superieure and Ecole Superieure de Physique et de Chimie Industrielle, Paris, France. Invited speaker and lecturer at prestigious institutions in Canada, USA, France, Switzerland, Sweden, Italy, Czech Republic, Nederlands and Japan.
