Research Interests

There is a growing demand for development of highly selective and cost effective technologies for many applications including sustainable energy, separation of pure components, and production of specialty products with targeted properties. Our research objective is to achieve such goal by adopting a Process Intensification (PI) approach in designing novel systems through the use of techniques such as oscillatory motion, ultrasonics, and turbulence promotion. In particular, we are interested in applying different PI approaches in the following areas:

  • Membrane Emulsification and Demulsification.
  • Self-cleaning membrane ultra-and microfiltration.
  • Application of Supported Liquid Membranes (SLM) in bioseparation.
  • Hydrogen production using direct solar radiation(DSSC)
  • Electrodialysis with Bipolar Membranes (EDBP)
