2007 Polar Stick Bridge Competition

Friday, November 23, 2007 - 3:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Room 1200 - Spencer Engineering Building

Teams from area high schools and Fanshawe College will join Western Engineering students at the Annual CEE Polar Stick Bridge Competition on Friday, November 23 at The University of Western Ontario.

Contestants will be showing off their bridges, which will have been constructed using wooden polar sticks donated from Nestles. Each entry will be tested with weights – to the point of structural failure – to see whose design is most sound. Each bridge will also be judged on aesthetic appeal.

Tours of several engineering facilities will also be offered to the participants, including the Boundary Layer Wind Tunnel Laboratory, the Civil and Environmental Structures Lab, and the Civil and Environmental Soils Lab.

Everyone welcome.
