Engineering good grades and extracurricular activities




The University of Western Ontario honoured its student-athletes who achieved 80 per cent or better in the 2007-08 academic year at the annual Academic Awards Luncheon at The Great Hall on December 5.

Western moved up in the national rankings to No. 5 with 93 CIS Academic All-Canadians (student-athletes with academic averages of 80 per cent or better who compete in CIS sports), and boasts 130 OUA Achievement Award winners (student-athletes with academic averages of 80 per cent or better who compete in OUA sports).

In 2006-07, Western had 209 student-athletes in this position. Western has improved to 223 in 2007-08. In Western Engineering, 15 students achieved 80 per cent or better in the 2007-08 academic year. Congratulations to:

Only Waterloo has more academic All-Canadians (99) in the province, while Laval (146), McGill (136) and Alberta (126) are also ahead of Western nationally.
