ES050 design students displayed their design projects for prospective students and their guests.

Over 150 high school students and their friends and family previewed what Western Engineering has to offer at Western's Fall Preview Day, Saturday, November 12, 2005.

Dean Franco Berruti kicked off the event with a warm welcome to the visitors.

"Engineering is a profession with opportunities for work in Canada and beyond," explained Dean Berruti. "Western Engineering will provide you with the leadership skills needed to act and work in South Western Ontario and beyond."

Bill Smolders, UES President, continued with Dean Berruti’s comments regarding the unique skills you acquire while at Western Engineering with a 20-minute presentation about Western Engineering Plus.

During Smolder's presentation he summarized the pluses of Western Engineering's program, including our Faculty's unique programming and options, co-op programs, extracurricular activities and best student experience.

"The University of Western Ontario has the best Frosh Week in Canada," says Smolders. "Western Engineering has the best Frosh Week on campus, which in turns means we have the best Frosh Week activities in the nation. As UES President, I can attest to the fact that Western, and more specifically Western Engineering, truly offers the best student experience."

After Smolder's presentation the visitors were invited to tour Engineering, including demonstrations by Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Integrated Engineering. Western Engineering student groups and ES050 students had their group projects on display outside SEB 1059.
