Changes to Equity Services

Western’s Equity Services Office relocated to a new space in rooms 330 - 335 of the South Valley Building. Coinciding with this  move will be a name change for Equity Services. The new name will be Equity and Human Rights Services which more accurately reflects the breadth of services provided by staff in this area.

“By adding Human Rights into our name we hope to better reflect the full the mandate of our services,” said Jennifer Schroeder, Director of Equity and Human Rights Services. She added, “We continue to be very interested in working with individuals and groups to promote an equitable, safe and supportive environment.”   

Equity and Human Rights Services provides:

• multidimensional services that offer advice and support focused on Human Rights and Employment Equity. Areas of concentration include issues related to harassment, discrimination, and diversity
• proactive assistance to individuals and groups to sustain and develop our diverse campus community
• a resource centre for information on these issues

The new offices of Equity and Human Services in the South Valley Building will maintain the current phone extension 83334.
